In the rich waters of the mid contingent, the end of times left a mish-mash of scattered islands, here the temperature rises during the dry season and the warm waters produce vast fish stocks and other creatures some less welcome. The great civilisation of the Greccians was lost just as with all the other civilisation when the planet was nearly destroyed, to the survivors it was the Gods at war and it was that war that had destroyed their world. Much of the great sculptures to the various Gods lay fallen and broken, the massive structures of Greccian worship nothing more than ruins piles of fine carved rubble. To the barbarians that rose to scratch a life on the barren islands this was the battleground of the Gods the statues, fallen Gods turned to stone.

Gradually, on the hundreds of islands life became more bearable and some of the old ways of the Greccians, returned the bigger islands formed alliances to trade with each other times that turned to war but none became powerful enough to conquer everyone, there remained a genuine feeling that fighting each other as the Gods had done would only end in destruction for all, so open warfare with each other was the last resort.

The Greccians soon become skilled negotiators. The new belief was those God who survived the civil war had retreated to their cloud kingdom to watch over their mortal children and would only offer guidance This guidance together with the desire to avoid total destruction led to a confederation of all the islands and all the races all working for the greater goal where every race would have a voice. It is a higher ideal which the gods may favour but in truth the confederation is a simmer pot of tension, boiling over from time to time. The indict of the forum the ruling council of the confederation is there is a place on the council for every island though in truth the wealthier islands rule and hold the balance, minor raiding of each other is tolerated for the greater goal but when a more serious argument leads to whole islands going to war with each other, the whole might of the confederation comes crashing down and crushes the offenders. Politics have become very powerful and provoking wars between your rivals is the new game. Raiding each other to undermine authority is common though the open sea offers more adventure and bigger prizes.

The climate is warm in the wet season and hot during the dry season the islands are very varied and produces many different foods they all have goat as the main meat and milk supply while the seas produce a rich bounty.
